folian GmbH, based in Wendorf (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), is a flexographic printing company specializing in the high-quality printing and finishing of packaging films. The focus is on flexible packaging for the food industry. Films made of OPP, PE, OPA, PET, CastPA and paper are printed on flexo presses with 10 or 10+1 colors; screen rulings up to 60 lpcm (150 lpi) enable print results approaching gravure quality. In addition to printing, the range of services includes lamination into film laminates, laser perforation, and precision slitting including custom mini and narrow rolls. Since spring 2015, folian has been the first printer in intermediate flexo film printing to use water-based inks, which have a significantly lower CO₂ footprint compared to solvent-based inks. The quality and environmental management systems are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; there are also certificates under BRCGS Packaging Materials (Grade AA) and FSC CoC. folian is part of the Walki Group.
