About FORAREX
FORAREX (foraminifera rocket experiment) is a science project that studies the marine single-celled organism Foraminifera under weightlessness. The project was carried out as part of the REXUS/BEXUS program and launched on 11.03.2019 with the research rocket REXUS 25 from the SSC Esrange Space Centre in northern Sweden. Before launch, technical tests such as a bench test of the communication systems were carried out at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. The experiment setup was assembled in Bremen and shipped to the Esrange Space Centre. In 2021, Sebastian Gfellner received 1st prize in the EANA Space Factor student contest. No information is available on manufacturing capacities, materials or series production; the profile is based solely on the published project information.
