About FVT mbH
Forschungsgesellschaft für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen und Thermodynamik mbH (FVT mbH) was founded in 2002 in Graz in close cooperation with Graz University of Technology. The company conducts research in applied thermodynamics: it develops and optimizes engine concepts and their electrification up to battery-electric and fuel-cell drives, investigates refrigeration cycles of household cooling appliances as well as tunnel ventilation, tunnel safety and air quality. The experimental equipment comprises five engine test benches (20 to 200 kW), a homologation-capable two-wheeler roller dynamometer, five dynamic powertrain test benches, a HIL test bench with battery simulator, and a rapid compression expansion machine (RCEM) for ignition and combustion investigations. In addition, FVT mbH offers emission and consumption measurements including RDE conformity testing (ISO 17025 accredited), simulation tools such as VECTO, PHEM and NEMO, 3D CAD design, homologation, and an accredited measurement laboratory for particulate matter and pollutants. Customers come from the automotive and two-wheeler industries, the commercial vehicle and off-road sector, tunnel infrastructure, as well as authorities and public institutions.
