About Forsthausbrauerei Trotzenburg
The Forsthausbrauerei Trotzenburg is a brewery with an inn, restaurant and beer garden in Rostock, located right next to the zoo. It is operated by Ostsee-Brauhaus AG (Kühlungsborn), which converted the historic building in the Barnstorf Forest into a brewhouse with its own beer production in 2001; since 2015 it has been operating as the Forsthausbrauerei. Various types of beer, including seasonal specialties such as the Schwarzbär (Black Bear), are brewed by hand in the in-house brewery and served in the brewhouse. In addition to beer production, the offering includes German brewhouse cuisine, a beer garden, a winter garden ambience, food to take away, and the hosting of festivals and celebrations including catering. The operating areas include the brewery, inn, restaurant and beer garden; a second location of the operating company is the Ostsee-Brauhaus AG Hotel in Kühlungsborn.
