About Foundry Alliance

Foundry Alliance GmbH, based in Stephanskirchen (Bavaria), is an alliance of independent, owner-managed foundries with locations across Germany. At eleven production sites, more than 500 employees generate over 80 million euros in revenue; the operations are fully equity-financed. The company covers the entire spectrum of aluminium, heavy metal, iron and investment casting, with a focus on prototypes as well as small and medium series. The value chain includes engineering from planning to production maturity, pattern and tool making, casting in all existing processes, and downstream manufacturing steps such as fettling, machining, hardening and X-ray inspection – partly in its own operations, partly via an established supplier network. In addition, Foundry Alliance is active as a consolidator in the German foundry market: to date, five foundries have been acquired from insolvency proceedings, restructured and modernised, including Metallgießerei Scherb (now FA Druckguss GmbH), Gablenz Guss GmbH, Metallgießerei Freiberg GmbH, Metallgießerei Spremberg GmbH and Christophorushuette GmbH.
