About FP-Pigments

FP-Pigments Oy is a globally active manufacturer founded in 1996 that produces Opacity Pigments™ – patented composite pigment particles for TiO2 optimization and substitution. The patented process combines rutile (TiO2) with calcium carbonate (PCC) into elaborately engineered pigment particles that enable partial replacement of TiO2 in formulations for paints, powder coatings, plastics, as well as paper and board. Product forms include dry powders with cationic or anionic surface charge, high-solids slurries for paper and board, cationic porous crystals for inkjet and flexo printing, and a 60% Opacity Pigment™ additive masterbatch for plastics processors. Production takes place in Valkeakoski (Finland, Speciality PCC), Leuna (Germany, two lines) and Rome, Georgia (USA); the research center is in Raisio, and headquarters in Espoo. For material produced in Germany, an LCA according to ISO 14060/44 determined a CO2 reduction of up to 73% compared with TiO2. A joint venture with Power International DMCC (FP Power Pigments, Abu Dhabi) has been announced for early 2026.
