fragmentiX – Quantum-safe Data Storage
fragmentiX is a crypto solution for storing data in a quantum-safe manner and protecting it against loss, destruction (e.g. ransomware) and theft. Cryptographic methods based on Secret Sharing split files into 3 to 26 fragments, which are distributed in an information-theoretically secure way across a user-defined combination of private and public S3 cloud storage. Neither a single fragment nor a small number of fragments contains any usable information, so stolen fragments are worthless. This also protects data stored with fragmentiX against “store now, decrypt later” attacks using future quantum computers. The fragmentiX CLUSTER Storage Appliances are manufactured in Europe by Dell Technologies according to fragmentiX specifications; since October 2020 fragmentiX has been a worldwide OEM Solutions Partner of Dell Technologies with sales and support in 170 countries. The solution was developed in close collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) at the technology park of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria) in Klosterneuburg.
