About us
Frank Bäcker Metallwerkstatt is a sole proprietorship based in Borgholzhausen (North Rhine-Westphalia), run by owner Frank Bäcker. The workshop manufactures metal constructions from stainless steel, zinc and aluminium as one-off pieces and small series: cutting, folding and welding of stainless steel sheets, bending of stainless steel round bar (V2A, 1.4301, diameter 8 mm) as well as folding of zinc sheet in the format 2000x1000x0.7 mm, e.g. angle and corner plates. A key focus is welding work as well as the design and assembly of precision-fit metal constructions. In the area of vehicle spare parts, repair bushings are manufactured for the LT 230 transfer gearbox of the Land Rover Defender, including bore reaming. Further applications include ball-bearing-mounted stove pipe swivel fittings for wood-burning stoves, railings, and constructions for mechanical engineering and furniture making. In addition, the workshop operates the 'Offene Werkstatt' (Open Workshop), where private individuals can, by appointment, use tools and space to repair their own items; the workshop is listed in the 'Verbund Offener Werkstätten' (Association of Open Workshops).

Main material for sheet and profile processing, bending work and welded constructions with high resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
Zinc (zinc sheet)
Formable, durable sheet for folded parts such as angle and corner plates (sheet format 2000x1000x0.7 mm), without assembly.
Aluminium
Processed, among other things, in the reaming of housing bores, e.g. on the LT 230 transfer gearbox.
Steel
Material for spare part and repair manufacturing, e.g. repair bushings.
