About Franke Tools
Franke Tools GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1989, based in the Funkerberg Technology Park in Königs Wusterhausen on the outskirts of Berlin. The company manufactures custom tools made of PCD, carbide (VHM) and HSS as well as special substrates for ISO inserts and offers a tool regrinding service for the metal, wood and plastics industries. Its value chain includes CNC turning and 5-axis CNC milling, internal and external cylindrical grinding, centerless cylindrical grinding, honing, surface grinding, wire, die-sinking and small-hole EDM, tool coating, hardening, laser machining of PCD/CVD cutting edges and laser engraving. Materials machined include steel, stainless steel, high-temperature-resistant steel (Inconel), aluminium, titanium alloys, non-ferrous metals, carbide and cermet. With a five-axis laser machine, cutting edge radii down to 2 µm are achieved without chipping. Customers come from the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, medical technology, research, tool and die making as well as the wood industries. Since 2016 the company has also distributed SCT standard tools; it has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2012.
