Frankenberger Backwaren GmbH is a craft bakery based in Frankenberg / Saxony. It emerged from the PGH 'Feinback' cooperative founded by five master bakers in 1969 and to this day produces at its central location at Humboldtstraße 27. The company manufactures bread, rolls, sweet and savoury pastries as well as confectionery items according to in-house recipes using traditional handcraft, using natural ingredients and regional partners such as the Webermühle Braunsdorf mill. After reunification, the sales network grew from five to more than 25 specialist shops; since 2017 the craft bakery has been operating under the 'Frankenberger Genusswelt®' brand. More than 180 employees are employed, including production, administration and the retail operation with café and cake consultation in the main store. The Frankenberger Christstollen has been awarded 'Very good' multiple times by the German Bread Institute (Deutsches Brotinstitut e.V.).

1. 1969

   Foundation of the craft production cooperative PGH 'Feinback' by five master bakers in Frankenberg on 23.03.1969

2. 1972

   Acquisition of the building with premises at Humboldtstraße 27 to centralize production

   Start of production at the Humboldtstraße 27 site after extensive construction work
