Trading and Innovation Built on Tradition since 1880
Frankstahl is a family-owned steel trading company now run by the fourth generation, headquartered in Guntramsdorf near Vienna, tracing back to a flange factory in Vienna founded by Bela Frank in 1880. Its registered business purpose is the wholesale trade in ores, iron, steel and semi-finished products. The company moves more than 500,000 tonnes of steel annually, records around 1,000,000 orders per year and keeps over 100,000 items available from stock. With more than 700 employees and over 30 sites in ten European countries (including Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina), Frankstahl is a partner to the steel industry. In addition to distribution, the group operates direct sales via the online shop TheSteel.com, international piping project business and, since 2018, the joint venture TheSteelPrinters with ArcelorMittal for 3D precision printing in metal for spare parts production. In 2022/2023, Steelcoin followed, an exchange-tradable steel investment.
