About Franz Burkhard's Söhne

Franz Burkhard's Söhne GmbH (FBS) is a family business founded in 1852 and is based in Ternitz-Putzmannsdorf, Lower Austria. The company manufactures cold headed pressed parts (Cold Headed and Formed Parts) as well as CNC turned parts for small to medium batch sizes. The primary raw materials used are wire and bar stock sourced predominantly in Austria, processed on high-performance cold presses (impression, double press, multi-stage, and rotary presses) and CNC twin-spindle automatic machines. The materials include iron and steel, non-ferrous metals (brass, copper, aluminum), various alloys, stainless materials, and plastics. The value creation process includes wire drawing, thread rolling, secondary processing, heat treatment (annealing, case hardening, tempering), surface treatment such as bright zinc plating, copper plating, nickel plating, tinning, phosphating, and glide coatings, as well as testing and sorting. Additionally, the company carries out installations, periodic inspections, and maintenance and repair of cranes, lifting jacks, forklifts, lift platforms, and gate systems. Customers are throughout Europe.
