About FreakyWood
FreakyWood is a workshop for individual wooden products in Braunlage in the Harz, operated by the Hocke & Weddemar GbR. It produces custom one-offs and small series of 20 pieces or more – from key rings and tree pendants to decorative items for hotels and holiday apartments, as well as promotional products and gift envelopes for money. The entire value chain, from the initial design through prototype building to finishing, takes place entirely in the company's own workshop in the Harz region. The wood processed there comes predominantly from the Harz and is sourced without additional felling, i.e. it is given a second use. Production combines craftsmanship with modern technology: cutting, sawing, drilling and sanding are done by hand, while engravings and shapes are realized with a CNC milling machine and a laser engraving/laser cutting system. The products carry the regional brand “Typisch Harz” and are aimed at private customers, events and businesses.
