About FREIHOF Brauerei & Hofstube
FREIHOF Brauerei & Hofstube has been based in Gossau in the canton of St. Gallen since 2010 and combines a brewery and experiential gastronomy at one location. The range includes home-brewed, natural and unfiltered beers, including classics such as pale lager, dark lager and wheat beer as well as seasonal and specialty beers such as Abendrot, Festbier, spring beer, Winter IPA, Yoga light beer and alcohol-free FKK. Spirits are also distilled from the brewery's own beer: a single-malt whisky matured in former sherry casks, a beer brandy (Sepplie) and a London Dry Gin. Barley malt from Germany and hops from the Lake Constance region and the Hallertau form the raw material base. The offering includes the Hofstube with restaurant, bar, beer garden, minigolf and sales shop, brewery tours with tastings, beer experience dinners in the brewhouse cellar as well as personalized beer labels and event planning for events. The beer Abendrot and the whisky were awarded silver medals at the Swiss Beer Award and DistiSuisse respectively in 2017/18.
