About Fritz Wever GmbH
The Fritz Wever GmbH in Lüdenscheid is a family-owned company for electroplated surface finishing with over 95 years of experience and processes mass-produced parts in fully automated barrel plating systems in 3-shift operation. Together with its sister company Gerd Haas Metallveredelungs GmbH in Schwelm, the company covers a broad range of processes: electroplated zinc plating with layer thicknesses of 3 to 30 µm, cyanide copper plating, bright nickel processes, electrolytic tin plating as well as passivations, sealings and lubricant coatings. Materials processed include steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass and bronze as well as zinc die-cast parts. Dimensions range from 1.2 mm diameter to component lengths of 400 mm. Industry focuses are mechanical engineering, plant engineering, electrical engineering as well as the furniture and fitting industry. The service portfolio also includes cleaning processes, heat treatment to avoid hydrogen embrittlement and support of projects from prototype to large-scale series.

Materials & Processes
Electroplated Zinc Plating
Cathodic corrosion protection as sacrificial anode with layer thicknesses of 3–30 µm for steel and zinc die-cast.
Cyanide Copper Plating
Bright, shiny deposits with good brightening and throwing power, frequently used as an intermediate layer in layer systems.
Bright Nickel Process
Ultra-smooth, high-gloss layers for decorative nickel plating on steel, copper, brass and bronze.
Electrolytic Tin Plating
Tin surfaces with high solderability and electrical conductivity, especially for electrical engineering.
Passivation
Trivalent chromium-based passivations in blue, thick-layer, black, yellow, red and turquoise on zinc.
Sealing / Lubricant Coating
Optimized corrosion protection and friction value adjustment according to customer or standard specification, temperature-resistant from -40 °C to 120 °C.
Heat Treatment (Tempering)
Tempering at 210 °C for 6–24 h to avoid hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength steels.
Cleaning
Pickling, degreasing and dephosphatization of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals as an intermediate or final process.
Steel
The most common base material for electroplated corrosion protection.
Stainless Steel
Base material for cleaning and pre-treatment processes.
Copper, Brass, Bronze
Non-ferrous metals for copper plating, nickel plating and tin plating.
Zinc Die-Cast
Processing and finishing of zinc die-cast parts.
