Intelligent Electronics from Kirchzarten
FSM AG, headquartered in Kirchzarten near Freiburg, develops and produces intelligent electronics for customized applications. The company supports its customers in four business areas: battery management systems and protection and charging circuits for lithium-ion batteries, measuring transducers and measuring systems (including pressure transducers), transformer soft-start switches for avoiding inrush current surges, as well as development and manufacturing services for electronic components (E²MS). As part of its contract manufacturing, the portfolio covers complete electronics assembly on two SMD lines with a capacity of 1,200 components per hour each, conformal coating technology, final assembly up to the fully tested printed circuit board, as well as the assembly of accumulators. Manufacturing quality is ensured by electronic and optical inspection methods and a final functional test; QR codes on the printed circuit boards enable component-level traceability across all manufacturing parameters. The industries covered include medical technology and mobile power supply. Founded in 1989, the company employs 125 staff and generated revenue of €29.5 million in 2025; it has been operating climate-neutrally since December 2021.
