About FWG-IHW techn. Federn GmbH

FWG-IHW techn. Federn GmbH, headquartered in Grevenbroich, manufactures custom technical springs in an industry-leading wire diameter range of 0.15 to 54.00 mm. The product portfolio includes compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs and bent wire parts, produced from single-piece and small-quantity runs. Production uses a patented process for mechanical machining of the spring end ("turning"); induction furnaces heat the raw material to over 900 °C, enabling rapid material changes and flexible lot sizes. An in-house raw material warehouse holds steels such as 51CrV4 and 52CrMoV4, stainless steels, valve spring wire as well as special materials such as Inconel, Hastelloy, titanium and Waspaloy. Around 40 employees produce in three-shift operation on a production area of over 1,300 m². Electrostatic powder coating in all RAL and Sikkens colors is performed at the Schwelm site. Customer industries include safety valves and fittings, power plant and plant engineering, automotive, mechanical engineering as well as lock and precision technology; supply to nuclear power plants is carried out under KTA-1401 certification.
