About GBIE
GBIE (G. Bareich Import-Export Inc.) is a second-generation Canadian family business based in Windsor, Ontario, that develops, manufactures and distributes high-performance water-based coatings for automotive weather seal systems worldwide. In 1989, the company brought the first water-based coating for automotive seals to market and created the SLIP-COAT brand. The 2-component systems (Part A plus crosslinker) with over 20 Part-A components and 6 crosslinker types are applied as Abrasion Resistant Coatings (ARC) on flexible substrates such as EPDM, TPE and PVC. Application takes place at the customer's site inline on high-speed extrusion lines or offline manually or robotically on molded parts and multi-profiles, with curing via hot-air ovens or infrared heaters. GBIE supplies Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers as well as OEMs in North America, Europe and Asia, and operates its own R&D laboratory for free-of-charge formulation development. In addition to its headquarters in Windsor, the company maintains an EU import office (G.B.I.E. GmbH) in Frankfurt/Main as well as global warehouses in Bremerhaven and Shanghai.
