About G. & K. Schön

G. & K. Schön GmbH is a specialist in the manufacture of burnishing and roller burnishing tools as well as in the production of individual parts, prototypes and small series. The company develops special tools for burnishing and roller burnishing, a chipless forming process for hardening and smoothing surfaces by rolling. The process is particularly suitable for the finishing of internal and external diameters, end faces, cones and spheres; the special field of expertise is multi-roller tools for rotationally symmetric machining. Workpieces made of ductile steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and casting materials are machined in this way. Roller burnishing reduces the surface roughness depth to below 1 µm, improves the hardness, fatigue strength and corrosion resistance of the workpiece surfaces and, compared to chip-removing processes such as honing, reaming or grinding, increases economic efficiency.
