Galilei Software GmbH, based in Bad Tölz, develops CageTalkers®, electronic cage cards for laboratory animal management in vivariums. The digital cards display real-time data such as breeding status, services and medical records, trigger alarms in case of discrepancies, and enable automatic cage inventory as well as cage localization via infrared communication. The associated middleware (CTOS operating system) connects animal management systems and laboratory information systems with workstations such as changing stations, isolators and racks into an integrated, automated process chain. Processes such as cage changes, breeding and weaning are documented directly in the workflow. Customers come from laboratory animal management, pharmaceutical research and lab animal management. In addition to its headquarters in Bad Tölz, the company maintains offices in the USA (MarginMate Inc., Granbury, TX), Canada (MarginMate Corporation, Georgetown, ON) and Scandinavia (Vivarium Consult International, Copenhagen).
