About Galvotec
Galvotec GmbH is a metal and plastics electroplating company based in Zurich, Switzerland. The company coats and finishes single parts, small series, prototypes and sample coatings for commercial and private customers, with all parts processed in manual plating. In the wet-chemical process, plastics, composites, high-performance plastics, ceramics, metals and special materials can be fully metallized; coating thicknesses range from below 1 µm to the millimeter range, as single layers or layer combinations. Galvotec sees itself as a specialist for rapid-prototyping parts from processes such as STL, SLA, SLM and SLS as well as for special materials such as Macor and PEEK. In addition to electroplating coatings (chrome plating, gold plating, nickel plating, copper plating, silver plating, electroless nickel plating), anodizing of aluminium and titanium as well as PVD coatings in high vacuum are offered. Galvanoforming additionally enables the production of complex-shaped, thin-walled parts. Customer industries include, among others, electronics, sanitary and kitchen, decorative items, high-tech and classic car restoration.

Materials & Processes
Chrome plating
Electroplated chromium layer for corrosion protection, appearance and wear protection, also as black chrome plating.
Gold plating
Gold deposition for electronic components, decorative applications and special tasks.
Nickel plating / electroless nickel plating
Bright and matte nickel plating as well as electroless nickel plating for sliding properties, solderability and protection.
Copper plating
Copper layers as intermediate layer or for metallization of plastics and waveguides.
Silver plating
Silver deposition for electrical conductivity and decorative surfaces.
PVD high-vacuum coating
Evaporation in high vacuum for metal layers that cannot be deposited electroplatically, e.g. reflectors.
Anodizing
Anodizing of aluminium and titanium for wear and corrosion resistance and for design purposes.
Galvanoforming
Electroplated production of complex-shaped, thin-walled parts that are difficult to realize otherwise.
PEEK
High-performance plastic that can be metallized by wet-chemical processes.
Macor
Machinable glass ceramic as a special material for electroplated coatings.
