Gann Mess- u. Regeltechnik GmbH is a family company founded in 1931, headquartered in Gerlingen near Stuttgart. The company develops and produces handheld measuring devices for moisture measurement in wood, building materials, insulation materials and bulk goods, as well as for humidity, temperature and air velocity. As early as 1948, GANN developed and produced the first Hydromette®. The product range includes electronic multifunction measuring devices, non-destructive capacitive measuring devices, CM devices based on the calcium carbide method, and climate data loggers for long-term climate monitoring, supplemented by electrodes, probes, accessories and consumables. All products are manufactured exclusively in Germany, in Gerlingen. The company also offers repairs and an in-house calibration service. Customers include industries such as wood and lumber processing, construction, building materials, insulation materials, and the renovation of old buildings and half-timbered structures.

Measurement methods and sensor technology
Electrical resistance moisture measurement
Measurement of wood moisture in lumber, boards, chipboard and OSB panels as well as parquet up to a thickness of 50 mm; building moisture in plaster, gypsum and aerated concrete up to 70 mm measurement depth.
Capacitive high-frequency moisture measurement
Non-destructive measurement without drilling or pin hammering via an electric measuring field, e.g. in building materials and wood fiber insulation boards (max. 30 mm measurement depth).
Calcium carbide method (CM)
Pressure method for moisture determination in building materials using CM devices and certified calcium carbide ampoules.
Pt100 temperature sensor
Robust, active resistance measurement method for air, surface and material temperature with high long-term stability, even under adverse ambient conditions.
Capacitive humidity sensors
Measurement of relative humidity from 0 to 100 % RH in combination and standalone devices.
Calcium carbide (CAS 75-20-7)
Consumable material in certified ampoules for CM moisture measurement according to the calcium carbide method.
