Since 1990, Gas-Anlagenbau Petzold GmbH has realised safe, standards-compliant gas supply systems for energy suppliers, municipal utilities, grid operators and industrial companies. The company from Ludwigsfelde specialises in the planning, manufacturing and construction of gas, pressure regulating and metering systems (GDRM systems) with inlet pressures up to 100 bar, including grid transfer and feed-in stations, local distribution stations, industrial GDRM systems and domestic installations. Welded fabrication is carried out to EN ISO 3834-3 and the AD 2000 code in the materials structural steel, stainless steel and copper. In addition to GDRM systems, biogas plants are erected on a turnkey basis and odorant locks for gas-bearing systems are manufactured. Maintenance, servicing, repair and overhaul are the responsibility of the sister company GRL - Gasanlagen & Regelungstechnik Ludwigsfelde GbR, which also operates at the Ludwigsfelde site. Reference projects take the company, alongside Germany, also to Poland and Latvia.

Foundation of Gasanlagen & Regelungstechnik Ludwigsfelde in the course of German reunification.
- 1991
Received the DVGW approval G 493 I for gas pressure regulating and supply systems up to 100 bar, as one of the first companies in the new federal states.
- 1992
Split on 28 October into two specialised companies: Gas-Anlagenbau Petzold GmbH (planning, manufacturing, construction) and GRL GbR (maintenance, servicing, repair, overhaul).
- 1998
GRL GbR receives the DVGW approval G 493 II.

Initial certification to ISO 9001 by DNV on 13 September.
