The Gasthof Brauerei Schwanen in Ehingen (Donau) operates a brewery with an attached brewhouse, dining room, beer garden and conference area. The beer history at the site dates back to 1697; the Ehingen beer diversity goes back to the year 1384, at times up to 27 Ehingen breweries competed with each other. Since 1864 the establishment has been run by the Miller family, now in its fifth generation. More than 30 different beer varieties are brewed annually, including Zwickel, Jubelbier, Spezial, southern German pilsner, Swabian Hell and Zwickel OAK Aged Bourbon. The offering includes, besides home-brewed beer, modern Swabian cuisine and beer menus, a brewing course on a 50-liter mini brewing system, a gin distilling course at the family distillery Schwanen, conferences as part of the Top 250 conference hotels, and a beer shop with delivery and pickup. The kitchen offers seasonal dishes such as game dishes in autumn and gambas in summer.
