About GAT Gaertner Automobile Technology
GAT Gaertner Automobile Technology is a contract manufacturer of precision parts founded in 2002 by Martin Gärtner and based in Hatten in Alsace. Emerging from the machinery pool of the motorsport forge GÄTMO, the company initially produced special components for motorsport and has since evolved into a specialised supplier of turned and milled parts. Its range covers CNC turning, 5-axis milling, surface grinding (up to 500 x 1000 mm), honing of internal bores from 3 to 350 mm diameter at Rz < 1 as well as CAD/CAM design and its own jig and fixture building. Lot sizes range from prototypes and small series (5–50 parts) to batches of 10,000 and more parts in three-shift operation, partly with unmanned robot loading. Materials processed include steels, stainless steel, cast materials, aluminium, magnesium, titanium, nickel alloys, brass, copper, zinc as well as thermoplastics, thermosets and high-performance plastics. Surface coatings and heat treatments are offered via partners; these are complemented by surface crack testing, laser marking and 3D metrology. Customers come from industry, security technology, motorsport, the automotive industry and plant engineering. Around 20 employees manufacture at the Hatten site, also for customers worldwide.
