About Gaznat
Gaznat SA is a Swiss energy utility headquartered in Vevey that procures, stores and transports high-pressure natural gas for partners in Western Switzerland and other parts of the country. The company operates its own high-pressure pipeline network of around 600 kilometres with 76 stations and also handles the planning, construction and operation of facilities for gas generation, storage and treatment. Its customers include local energy utilities, municipalities and industrial customers such as the Services industriels de Genève, the City of Lausanne and Holdigaz. In 2020, Gaznat sold around 12'463 GWh of natural gas and generated revenue of CHF 545.2 million. Founded in 1968, the company is increasingly committed to renewable gases: at its Aigle site it operates an Innovation Lab with projects on methane synthesis and CO2 capture, conducts research collaborations with EPFL and is a member of the CO2NNECT network for CO2 transport. In 2024, the pipeline network's communication system was modernised with Hitachi Energy.

Safety and Quality
The infrastructure is subject to Swiss federal guidelines and is regularly inspected; the pipeline network is monitored via a private communication infrastructure using SCADA. In the event of supply risks, a tiered alert model applies (Normal, Alerte, Urgence).
