About GBH

GBH-Gesellschaft für Baustoff-Aufbereitung und Handel mbH, based in Hofolding near Munich, has specialised since 1989 in the recycling of all types of construction materials and the environmentally sound recovery of contaminated mineral residual materials. The company operates a network of sites in Bavaria (Hofolding, Aschheim, Erding, Tacherting, Atting, Peutenhausen) and deploys mobile recycling and crushing plants with annual capacities of 180 to 200 tonnes per plant. Materials processed include milled asphalt, concrete, construction rubble, excavated soil, track ballast as well as tar-contaminated road demolition material, which is stored under cover and partly shipped abroad under notification procedures for thermal recovery. The processed material is used to produce certified recycled construction materials such as RC asphalt, RC concrete, RC chippings, RC crushed sand and RC shoulder material, which are tested under in-house production control. Customers include DB Netz AG, STRABAG AG, Stadtwerke München and the Bavarian asphalt mixing plants.

Materials and Processing Methods

ASP

Asphalt / milled asphalt

Processed to be 100% recyclable and reused as RC asphalt granulate in accordance with TL AG-StB.

BET

Concrete

Processed with mobile impact crushers into pure-grade RC concrete 0/32 for earthworks and road construction.

SCH

Construction rubble

Processed into RC construction materials such as RC mix and RC chippings.

GST

Track ballast

Around 90% of decommissioned granite and basalt track ballast is turned into RC chippings and premium chippings.

BOD

Excavated soil

Contaminated excavated soil is cleaned in the washing plant and reused as aggregate.

TEER

Tar-contaminated road demolition material

Stored under cover and disposed of under notification procedures for thermal recovery.

SLA

EOS slag

Processed as an aggregate for road construction materials.

GRB

Granite/Basalt (in RC chippings)

Main components of the RC aggregates produced from track ballast.
