About BERO

Gebrüder Allendörfer Betonwerk GmbH (BERO) manufactures roller shutter boxes, venetian blind boxes/louver blind boxes and lintel elements (RoBERO) made of BEROpor lightweight concrete with EPS insulation molded parts and construction steel fabric in Gießen-Lützellinden. Since 1948, the patented BERO roller shutter box made of pumice concrete has shaped the product range; today it comprises four basic roller shutter box designs, surface-mounted and built-in venetian blind boxes up to 7.00 m delivery length as well as fire protection boxes (A2) and passive house variants with EPS WLG 032. In addition, plastic windows, doors and roller shutters based on VEKA profiles are manufactured, delivered and installed, including made-to-measure special solutions such as “2 in ONE” (venetian blind and roller shutter in one box). Customers include residential construction companies, building contractors, building materials merchants and private builders; reference projects include Volksbank Mittelhessen, GWH, Wilma Wohnen and Bouwfonds, among others. Deliveries are made with the company's own trucks to all 16 federal states as well as to northern France, Luxembourg and Belgium, and also just-in-time in the project business. The site is located centrally in Germany approx. 50 km north of Frankfurt.

BEROpor lightweight concrete

Thermally insulating lightweight concrete for roller shutter, venetian blind and lintel elements with high dimensional stability.

Bims

Pumice concrete

Material of the first BERO roller shutter box, patented in 1948.

EPS 032

EPS insulation material (WLG 032)

Interior insulation of the boxes, including for energy-efficiency and passive house variants (λ = 0.031 W/(m·K) for the RoBERO lintel).

Stahl

Construction steel fabric

Reinforcement of the lightweight concrete boxes for torsional rigidity and durability.

PVC

Plastic (VEKA window profiles)

Profile material of the plastic windows manufactured since 1978; profile supplier is VEKA (Sendenhorst).
