Gebrüder Kobel is a family-owned leather tannery that has been producing high-end leather at the same location since 1877 and distributing it via its own online shop. The range comprises standard items and special stock for a wide variety of applications, including greased leather straps, white leather, chrome splits, tooling leather, harness leather as well as special items such as gymnastics apparatus leather and bell strap leather. Depending on the article, the leathers are tanned combined mineral-vegetable, mineral, vegetable or synthetic and offered dyed aniline or brush-dyed, in different thicknesses and hide sizes from half butt to full hide. Customers come from equestrian and dog sports, belt and bag manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, tooling/arts and crafts, reenactment and the technical sector such as gymnastics apparatus construction. The origin of the business goes back to a tannery founded by Johann Olde over 230 years ago at today's location. Today, Sebastian Kobel runs the company in the fifth generation.
