Gebrüder Nippes GmbH & Co. KG is a Solingen manufacturer of fine steel goods founded in 1923. The family-owned company produces at its own Solingen facility manicure and pedicure instruments such as scissors, nail nippers, cuticle nippers, nail clippers, tweezers and files, as well as manicure sets in leather cases. All cutting instruments are made from hot forged and hardened steel; scissors are hand ground in Solingen. In tweezers production, sheet metal, standard steel, stainless material, antimagnetic 18/10 and titanium are processed; special versions include ultra-fine tips, curved shapes, X-guides and soldered copper jaws. In addition to products under its own name, Nippes also produces private-label brands for distribution partners and manufactures industrial tweezers to customer specifications for industry, medicine and trades. The main domestic customers are pharmacies; around 60 percent of revenue is generated through exports to around 50 countries.
