About GELITA
GELITA AG, headquartered in Eberbach, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of gelatin, collagen and collagen peptides. From raw materials such as bovine hide, pork hide and cattle bones, the company produces around 80,000 tons of gelatin per year at more than 21 production sites in North and South America, Europe, South Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to standard gelatin, the portfolio includes bioactive collagen peptides for dietary supplements, pharmaceutical gelatin for hard and soft capsules and microencapsulation, hemostats for surgical applications, and photographic and technical gelatin. As by-products of collagen production, fats, proteins and minerals (FPM) are generated for food, animal nutrition, fertilizers and biofuels. Founded in 1875, the non-listed family-owned company employs more than 2,900 people and supplies the food and beverages, health and nutrition, pharmaceutical, medical/bioscience, pet food and animal nutrition industries as well as technical applications ranging from photography to restoration.
