About us

The raw material producers are an association of the companies ard Baustoffwerke, SH Natursteine and GEOMIN and operate a total of seven locations in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The company extracts and processes rocks such as amphibolite, marble, dolomitic marble and limestone, producing chippings, grit, road construction materials, fillers and dried grain sizes from them. In addition, it produces asphalt mix for base, binder and surface courses as well as mastic asphalt in its own asphalt mixing plants, and ready-mixed concrete in two concrete plants. Around 120 employees, including ten apprentices, supply customers from large construction sites to private projects, including road construction, rail track construction, civil and structural engineering, and agriculture. In the Venusberg amphibolite quarry, a grey-black hard rock is mined; the Lengefeld lime works, whose lime extraction dates back to the 16th century, serves as a processing site for fillers and dried grain sizes. The portfolio is complemented by residual material acceptance, over-the-counter sales and delivery logistics.

Rocks & Products

AMB

Amphibolite

Weathering-resistant hard rock from Venusberg for chippings, grit, paving stones, ballast and hydraulic engineering stones.

MAR

Marble / dolomitic marble

Valuable raw material from the Lengefeld deposit, used e.g. for fillers, terrazzo grain sizes and carbonated magnesian lime.

KAL

Limestone / carbonated magnesian lime

Raw material of the lime works, used as fertilizer and filler, among other things for bitumen mixing plants.

KIES

Gravel (concrete gravel 2/8, among others)

Extracted natural gravel as aggregate for ready-mixed concrete and for sale to large and small customers.

SAND

Natural sand, in-situ 0/2

In-situ natural sand from over-the-counter sales for construction and earthworks.

ASA

Asphalt mix

Base, binder and surface course mixes as well as mastic asphalt from four own asphalt plants for road construction.

BET

Ready-mixed concrete

Concrete produced in two concrete plants for construction projects of various applications.
