About Georg Büttner
Georg Büttner GmbH & Co. KG, based in Esslingen am Neckar, specialises in the development and manufacture of components for industrial weighing and dosing technology as well as force measurement. The product range includes force transducers and load cells in various designs (bending beam, S-type, compression and single-point load cells) for rated loads from 100 g to 330 t, weighing modules for 50 kg to 330 t, and electronic evaluation devices ranging from simple weighing amplifiers to multi-scale weighing and dosing controls. Load cells and weighing modules are also available in stainless steel and for legally verified (calibratable) use; in addition, accessories such as junction boxes, load buffers, articulation heads, flat gliders and auxiliary displays are available, as well as custom application software for weighing and dosing processes. Founded in 1965 by Ing. Georg Büttner, the family business is today led by Edelgard and Martin Büttner. Through the subsidiary Büttner Malta Limited, founded in 1995 in Malta, series production of force transducers and load cells is carried out, along with sales in North Africa and the Middle East. Typical applications can be found in concrete mixing plants, grain mills, feed mills, reactors in adhesive manufacturing and agricultural machinery.

Materials & Versions
Stainless steel
Load cells and weighing modules also available in stainless steel, e.g. the B84 bending beam load cell with a smooth surface without metallic bellows against contamination.
Rubber/elastomer
Rubber buffers (elastomer bearings) with force transducers dampen shocks and vibrations and increase operational safety and service life.
ABS (plastic)
Housing material of the weighing electronics, e.g. ABS DIN housing 96 x 96 mm on the MLC96-3.
PTFE
Flat gliders FGL as low-friction bearing elements with stainless steel sliding on PTFE.
Steel, galvanised
Plate material of the FGL flat gliders for horizontal load carrier movements.

Company History
- 1965
Founded on 1 April by Ing. Georg Büttner as a sole proprietorship: development and construction of electro-mechanical and electronic program control and regulation systems for industrial weighing and dosing systems.
- 1968
Maintenance and inspection of numerous old scale control systems at customers' sites; load cells were still little widespread at that time.
- 1970
Move into the newly built company building in Teckstraße in Esslingen.
- 1970-1976
First developments of force transducers, load cells and load cells; initially small series of custom models.
- 1980
Start of larger series production; the models B40, B41 and B42 become popular with users.
- 1984-1986
Market launch of the bending beam load cells B74, B73 and B72; first use of rubber buffers (elastomer bearings) with force transducers in weighing technology.
- 1985
Conversion into Georg Büttner GmbH & Co. KG; expansion into China, the Soviet Union and South Korea.
- 1986
Development of electronic controls and sensor technology for sorting and packing machines; first generation of Bucodat devices.
- 1990
25th company anniversary; opening up of new growth markets in Southeast Asia, start of delegation trips and foreign trade fairs.
- 1991-1992
Participation in technology symposia in Asia to expand the sales network in the ASEAN states and Eastern Europe.
- 1994
Delivery of the Bucodat-2 weighing and dosing control, among other things for concrete mixing plants and coal intake scales.
- 1995
Foundation of the subsidiary Büttner Malta Limited for production and sales.
- 1996
Market launch of the stainless steel bending beam load cell B84 (5–500 kg) without metallic bellows.
- 1997
Further expansion of the cooperation network in the Gulf states and Maghreb countries.
- 2000
Focus on spare parts supply and retrofits of existing systems.
