About Neumann.Berlin
Georg Neumann GmbH is a manufacturer of professional studio technology founded in Berlin in 1928. The company manufactures large-diaphragm and small-diaphragm microphones, KH-series studio monitors, headphones and, with the MT 48, an audio interface. Production takes place in the Wedemark near Hanover under cleanroom conditions comparable to semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially in the processing of microphone capsules. Final assembly of each unit is carried out by hand without automated mass production; every microphone capsule undergoes more than 50 measurement and inspection procedures before installation. The company also manufactures and repairs spare parts based on archived design drawings and offers a repair service for all microphones built after 1947. Since 1991, Neumann has been part of the Sennheiser Group; the headquarters with development, sales and service is located in Berlin.

Manufacturing Processes & Precision
Manual Final Assembly
Every microphone and every monitor is assembled and inspected by hand by specially trained employees.
Cleanroom Manufacturing
The production of the sensitive microphone capsules takes place under cleanroom conditions with air purification technology far below usual limit values.
Acoustic Measurement Technology
Every diaphragm undergoes detailed measurement procedures; the movement of the diaphragm down to the picometer range is measured and inspected.

Quality & Inspection
Microphones undergo a wide range of inspection requirements throughout the entire manufacturing process; the capsules alone pass more than 50 different tests before final assembly. Every diaphragm is inspected in detailed measurement procedures and verified for symmetry.
