Geotechnisches Büro GmbH was founded in 1979 as a consultancy and planning office covering all areas of geotechnics; its headquarters are located in Aachen (Neuenhofstr. 112). The interdisciplinary team of civil engineers and engineering geologists determines the subsoil structure on site as well as the composition and mechanical behaviour of soil and rock as the basis of every foundation consulting assignment. Services include the planning and execution of field investigations (mapping, small-diameter drilling, dynamic probing, plate load and infiltration tests), laboratory determination of material parameters in the company's own building materials testing laboratory, as well as the development of subsoil and structural models, stability analyses and the design of shallow and deep foundations, excavation and slope securing. In addition, the office works in the areas of special foundation engineering, rock securing, contaminated sites, landfills, waste disposal, groundwater/hydrogeology, geothermal energy and quality assurance as well as structural monitoring and damage analysis. Clients include private and public building owners, government authorities, ministries, special foundation engineering companies, water suppliers and waste disposal companies. Project-related collaboration with specialists such as chemists, biologists and landscape planners, along with close contacts to universities, complement the range of services.
