About GER Umweltschutz GmbH
GER Umweltschutz GmbH is a waste management company operating throughout Germany, headquartered in Grevesmühlen in the northwest of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Since 1990, the medium-sized company with more than 90 employees has handled the collection, transport and recovery of waste for private households, businesses, municipalities and the construction industry. Its service portfolio includes a container service with over 800 containers from 1.5 to 36 m³, a swap-body collection system with blue, brown and green bins as well as bio-waste bags, demolition and refurbishment work including asbestos and hazardous substance remediation as well as gutting. At the Recycling Park Neu Degtow, construction and commercial waste is sorted, ashes and dusts are conditioned, and green and bio-waste has been composted since 1995; waste wood is processed into biomass fuels. At the Waste Management Center Wismar, suitability-tested recycled building materials such as concrete-RC, asphalt-RC and mixed-RC are produced in accordance with the Substitute Building Materials Ordinance. The soil remediation plant Neubukow-Jörnstorf cleans contaminated soils using a microbiological process. As a certified waste management specialist (Efb) and SURE-certified biomass supplier, the company operates in accordance with the requirements of the Circular Economy Act.

Waste streams and material flows
Concrete, bricks, aerated concrete, gypsum
Mineral construction waste is processed into concrete-RC and mixed-RC recycled building materials.
Asphalt (road rubble)
Road rubble is recycled into asphalt-RC 0/32 mm at the WMZ Wismar.
Waste wood (classes A1–A4)
Waste wood is processed into biomass fuels through shredding, sorting and screening.
Metal/scrap (steel, iron)
Scrap metals are separated from construction and demolition waste using magnetic separators and recovered.
Contaminated soil (mineral oil hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, lead,
Contaminated soils are microbiologically cleaned at the soil remediation plant Neubukow-Jörnstorf.
Green and bio-waste
Kitchen and garden waste has been processed into compost at the composting plant since 1995.
Commercial waste and municipal waste
In the sorting plant with a sorting rate of over 90 %, mixed waste is separated and fed to recovery.
Paper, cardboard, paperboard
Waste paper is collected separately via the blue bin and commercial collections.
Plastic waste
Plastics are collected separately and recovered in a recycling-compatible manner.
Substitute fuels
Substitute fuel is produced from pretreated construction and commercial waste in accordance with the Commercial Waste Ordinance.
