About GERB
GERB is an engineering service provider specialized in vibration control, headquartered in Germany. The company develops and supplies vibration isolation systems such as Spring-Viscodamper®, steel spring elements (GP spring elements) and NOVODAMP®, a closed-cell polyurethane for building and trackbed applications. The service portfolio comprises technical consulting, measurements and testing, research and development, engineering with design and calculation of machine foundations, as well as assembly, installation and on-site supervision. One documented project shows the base isolation of a 275-kJ forging hammer with a design load of 720 t and a tuning frequency of 4 Hz in a plant over 30 years old, including measurements according to DIN 4150-2. Customers come from the fields of manufacturing, industry and energy, architecture and construction, as well as transport and infrastructure. Since 1908, GERB systems have been in use worldwide under thousands of machines and structures.

Materials & Processes
Steel spring elements (Helical Steel Spring Elements, GP)
Steel helical springs as load-bearing elements of the base isolation of heavy machines such as forging hammers.
Viscodamper®
Damping elements, combined with spring elements to control vibration amplitudes.
NOVODAMP® (closed-cell polyurethane)
Elastomer material for vibration isolation of buildings and trackbeds.

Additional services
History
- 1908
Foundation of GERB; company motto: 'Made in Germany. Since 1908. Worldwide.'
- 2019
GERB is called in to assess a forging plant over 30 years old for the installation of a forging hammer
- 2020
Order placement in early 2020 and installation of the vibration isolation system (4 Hz, 720 t design load) for a 275-kJ forging hammer by the end of the year
- 2021
Commissioning of the hammer; after a successful result, follow-up order to isolate a 175-kJ hammer in the same pit foundation
