About Gerelli
Gerelli AG Die Rösterei is a peanut roasting company based in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The company was founded in 2003 as a joint venture of the Berner, Gehrer and Giovanelli entrepreneur families and took over the peanut roasting operation of Spar Switzerland. Gerelli roasts Virginia and Egyptian Giant peanuts fresh daily, as well as organic peanuts from certified organic cultivation, and also distributes a range of dried fruits. More than 1,500 tonnes of in-shell peanuts are roasted annually; over 100 wholesalers and major customers at home and abroad are supplied, with exports ongoing since 2015. The raw material arrives by ship, barge and rail, and processing takes place on specialized equipment, including a roaster developed jointly with Bühler in 2020. Since 2016 the company has been 100 % owned by the Weiss family; operational management lies with Raphael Weiss.

History

Founded as a joint venture of the Berner, Gehrer and Giovanelli families; takeover of the peanut roasting operation of Spar Switzerland, roasting in Frauenfeld.
- 2009
The affiliated Giovanelli Fruchtimport AG joins the Energy Agency of the Swiss Economy (EnAW).
- 2012
The Gehrer and Berner families transfer their shares to Sergio and Romeo Giovanelli.

The Giovanelli brothers decide on a joint path with the Weiss family.
