GEW Bezirksverband Weser-Ems

About the association

The GEW District Association Weser-Ems is a district association of the Trade Union for Education and Science (GEW) with its head office in Oldenburg (Staugraben 4a). It represents employees in the education sector in Lower Saxony and organises union-based educational and information events, member support, specialist group work (including senior members, PTTF) as well as legal information and continuing training for teachers. The association is engaged in collective bargaining and working-time policy and supports numerous district associations in the Weser-Ems region. Since the resolution of the district delegates' conference on 13.05.2025, the former Department for School Education has been named Trade Union Education, Member Support and Promotion (GBMW). It is not a manufacturing company, but an interest association in the field of education and upbringing.
