About GFE
GFE was founded in 2005 by three DRK blood donation services and is one of the first companies to use Nucleic Acid Amplification Technology (NAT) for the early detection of HCV, HBV, and HIV in blood donor screening. The company develops and distributes CE-IVD-marked, ready-to-use NAT test kits for all transfusion-relevant viruses. With the PoET® instrument, a fully automated system with on-board pooling is available, optimizing the laboratory workflow. The assays utilize multi-dye and multi-target techniques and are characterized by high sensitivity, specificity, and robustness against target mutations. The product portfolio includes the PoET® Multiscreen Assay (HCV, HBV, HIV-1/2), the PoET® Universal Positive Control, and the PoET® CMV Assay for the highly precise detection of Cytomegalovirus. The headquarters are located at the Frankfurt Biotechnology Innovation Center (FiZ) in Frankfurt am Main; distribution in Germany is handled by Seegene Germany GmbH.
