About Gmeinder

GGT GMEINDER GETRIEBETECHNIK GmbH in Mosbach develops, designs, manufactures and maintains spur and bevel gearboxes for rail vehicles, including gearboxes with gear shifting and an integrated condition-monitoring system. The core business comprises two fundamental pillars: the development and distribution of customer-specific gearboxes and drives for rail vehicles, and the maintenance and repair of gearboxes both own and third-party, including product improvement measures. Manufacturing includes the production of bevel gear sets using the Klingelnberg Zyklo-Palloid method, housing machining (including aluminium) and small-parts production of spare parts such as housings, shafts, wheels and rolling bearings. The service workshop built in 2012 enables the processing of complete wheelsets including axle bearings, wheels, brake discs and axle shafts. With more than 100 employees and an annual capacity of over 1500 gearboxes, the company supplies customers such as Deutsche Bahn, Alpha Trains, Kirow, Windhoff and Harsco. The Mosbach site has existed since 1913; since 2019 Gmeinder has belonged to Wikov Industry a.s. headquartered in Prague.
