Girsberger is a Swiss family business founded in 1889 and headquartered in Bützberg that manufactures furniture for office, contract and residential use. The portfolio includes office swivel chairs, chairs, stools, armchairs, sofas, benches as well as solid wood tables and complementary furniture such as sideboards and mobile walls. In addition to series production, the Customized Furniture division realizes custom-made furniture based on designs by architects and designers – from construction and prototype building to on-site assembly. The core competency is solid wood processing with in-house timber trading, sawmill cutting, wood drying, joinery, metalworking, upholstery, sewing and surface finishing. In addition, Girsberger offers Remanufacturing: manufacturer-independent refurbishment, repair and upcycling of existing furniture. Production takes place in its own plants in Bützberg (Switzerland), Endingen (Germany), Ruma (Serbia) and Istanbul (Turkey), with electricity from 100 % renewable energies.

Girsberger manufactures in its own plants in Europe with 100 % electricity from renewable energies and was awarded EcoVadis Gold in 2026 (top 5 % of all rated companies, upper 2 % of the furniture manufacturing industry). For Customized Furniture, functional and standards testing as well as material evaluation are carried out; acceptance takes place on site.

Founded as a wood-turning workshop in Zurich by Heinrich Girsberger; start of furniture manufacturing with piano stools.
- 1910
Continuously height-adjustable studio stool with the first patent for quick-adjustment mechanics (model 111, produced until 1970).
- 1912
First office swivel chairs with targeted, movable lumbar support.
- 1919
Wilhelm Girsberger continues the business after the founder's death.

Relocation from Zurich to Bützberg; construction of the new company headquarters and entry into series production.
Manufacturing and distribution for Knoll International under licence (designs by Florence Knoll and Eero Saarinen).
