About Glas Kausch
Glas Kausch GmbH is a modern industrial flat glass production company and, at the same time, a business of the traditional glazier's craft at the Greifswald site. In its own production facility, the company manufactures an extensive range of functional insulating glass: thermal insulation glass (iplus family, Ug values down to 0.4 W/m²K), solar control glass (ipasol/stopray, build-ups of 26 mm and 42 mm), sound insulation glass (ipaphon, Rw up to 52 dB), safety glass (ESG and VSG up to resistance class P8B/RC6) as well as multifunctional glass. The glasses made from float glass, noble gas filling (argon, krypton) and thermally improved edge seal are delivered to industrial and craft customers for further processing. Customers who do not process the glass themselves receive a complete value chain comprising expert advice, site measurement, project planning, manufacture, accessory procurement, transport, installation and assembly – including energy-efficient window renovation, facade and object glazing, glass showers and restoration of leaded glazing. For the installation of large-format panes, crane trucks with rotating suction units (up to 500 kg) and glass racks up to 2 t are available. Reference projects include Sparkasse Vorpommern, Greifswald University Medical Center, the FHTW Berlin and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics Greifswald.

Company history
- 1990
After reunification, Ralf Kausch founded the glass production facility at today's Greifswald location, continuing the original glazier's business from Bremerhaven; start of insulating glass manufacturing.
- 2016
Andreas Kihnholz took over the business and continues to run it as a combination of industrial manufacturing and traditional craft.
