About Glasbläserei Schmidt
Glasbläserei Schmidt was founded in 1990 by Hans-Günther Schmidt in Manebach and is an owner-managed specialist for custom-made laboratory glass apparatus. The company manufactures a broad range of glass products to customer specifications and drawings, including apparatus with ball joints and threads as well as glass moulds for condom production. In addition, glass-technology assemblies are manufactured and repaired according to customer templates. The work is carried out at burners and lathes by trained glass apparatus makers. In 2010 the company moved to the Ilmenau industrial estate Am Vogelherd, where the site has been expanded twice. Since the takeover by Tobias Schmidt in 2016, the workforce has grown to more than 20 employees.

Multiple extensions of the production building up to 2006.
Conversion into a GbR by Hans-Günther Schmidt together with his son Tobias.
