About Glasfabrik Lamberts
Glasfabrik Lamberts was founded in 1887 by glass engineer Laurenz Lamberts and, as a fourth-generation family business, is Europe's only independent medium-sized rolled glass manufacturer. At its main plant in Wunsiedel-Holenbrunn (Upper Franconia), all existing types of rolled glass are produced by rolling processes: LINIT channel glass (U-glass), ornamental glass including special ornamental glasses, wired glass and wired ornamental glass, as well as the antimony-free, low-iron solar glass EcoSolar for photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. The raw materials—alkali-lime glass based on sand, lime, soda and dolomite—are melted in an oxygen-fired melting furnace, formed in a plastic state by steel rollers and, after controlled cooling, automatically cut to fixed dimensions. Finishing includes thermal toughening as safety glass up to 7 m in length, color enameling, sandblasting, laminated safety glass and point-fixed channel glass facades with drilled holes. Fields of application are primarily architecture and facade construction, museums, theaters, office and sports buildings as well as the solar industry; delivery is worldwide.
