About the Glass Workshop
The Glass Workshop Krefeld is run by the glass artist Renate Sievers-Weiß and has been producing utility and art objects from glass since 2001. The core process is fusing, the joining and melting together of different glasses into flat or three-dimensional objects. In addition, hand-wound glass beads are made, which are used in the company's own jewellery collections. Since 2003 the portfolio has also included mould making and the production of glass washbasins, and since the same time the development of the Glass & Steel theme. The gallery and workshop have been located at Ortmannsheide 103 in Krefeld since 2006; regular workshops in glass fusing and glass bead winding are also held there, in which more than 2,500 participants have learned to work with glass in around 750 courses since 2000. The works are presented in the company's own gallery, at exhibitions such as the Krefeld Flachsmarkt and at art markets.
