About Glenair
Founded in 1956, Glenair, Inc. was the first company to specialize specifically in electrical connector accessories (backshells). Today this family-owned, privately held company manufactures a complete portfolio of high-reliability connectors, crimp contacts, backshells, EMI/RFI shielding, hermetically glass-sealed connectors, optoelectronic modules, and turnkey cable harness and flex assemblies for mission-critical applications on land, at sea, in the air and in space. Manufacturing includes assembly of MIL-Spec and Signature connector lines (including MIL-DTL-38999 Series III, Micro-D, Series 79 Micro-Crimp, Series 80 Mighty Mouse), glass-metal sealing, overmolding with Duralectric elastomer (halogen-free, up to 200 °C), extrusion, crimp termination and precision machining of gold-plated contacts. Value creation includes an in-house ISO/IEC 17025 test laboratory (Glenair Italia TestLab) for environmental and mechanical testing. Customers come from aerospace (NASA, ESA), defense, marine (NAVSEA), submarine/subsea, rail, mining and nuclear power engineering. Production takes place in the USA (Glendale, Chicago, Anaheim, Arcadia) as well as in Mansfield (UK), Bologna (Italy) and Salem (Germany).
