About Glice
Glice is a Swiss company that develops and markets synthetic ice rinks based on sintered plastic panels. The modular system of polymer panels with tongue-and-groove connection enables ice skating with normal skates – without refrigeration systems, without water and without electricity. The panels can be laid on level surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or sports flooring and are installed without anchoring or drilling. In the standardized test of the Fraunhofer Institute IWM (interim report V1184-2025), a 52% lower friction compared to the best competitor was confirmed; according to the report, glide performance at low speeds corresponds to that of freshly prepared natural ice. Over 3,000 rinks in more than 100 countries have been installed, including for ice hockey training, municipalities, hotels, retail, events, private customers, figure skating and educational institutions. Customers include HC Davos, the CCM Hockey Lab, Fairmont, Hyatt, Westfield as well as NHL player Roman Josi.

Quality & Testing
The glide performance was investigated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM in standardized tests (interim report V1184-2025), with measurements of friction, blade penetration depth and abrasion.
