About GIDS
Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) is a state-owned defence conglomerate founded in 2007 in Rawalpindi and Pakistan's largest defence manufacturer. The company was established to build up domestic defence production in the air, land and sea domains. Initially, GIDS manufactured conventional ammunition such as general-purpose bombs, depth charges and artillery shells as well as protective equipment such as ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests. Subsequently, the portfolio shifted deliberately towards guided weapons, precision guidance and range-extension kits for existing bomb bodies, as well as systems integration. Today, the portfolio includes C4I and battlefield management solutions, artillery fire control systems, electronic warfare and counter-drone capabilities, electro-optical and sonar sensors, naval warfare weapons, CBRN protection and decontamination systems, as well as tactical and hand-launched drones. GIDS positions itself as an integrator within the Pakistani defence industry and also supplies components, including parts for main battle tanks.
