About GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik

GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH was founded in 1968 in Bühl and, as a family-run group of companies, specialises in vibration technology solutions. The company develops and manufactures rubber-metal components, spring elements, rubber moulded parts, elastomer compounds and complete air spring systems for vibration damping, decoupling and elastic mounting. Manufacturing includes its own rubber compounding facility, the vulcanisation of elastomer onto steel or stainless steel metal bodies, and the assembly of systems. This is complemented by FEM simulation with hyperelastic material parameters, FKM strength verification, service life testing on hydraulic test rigs, failure analysis, component optimisation and remanufacturing of rubber-metal parts. The main customer industries are rail vehicles, protection and defence technology, off-highway, machinery and drive technology, shipbuilding, renewable energies, infrastructure, commercial vehicles as well as screening and conveying technology. With more than 1,100 employees, the group is represented worldwide with production and sales locations in Germany, Brazil, France, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the USA; the headquarters are located in Bühl (Baden-Württemberg).

Elastomer/rubber (custom compounds)

Individually developed elastomer compounds with defined damping and stiffness properties, among others in Shore hardnesses from 40 to 70.

ST

Steel

Load-bearing metal bodies for rubber-metal bonded elements, e.g. machine feet and mounting elements.

VA

Stainless steel

Corrosion-resistant metal bodies for maritime applications such as machine feet in shipbuilding.

GUM

Rubber-metal vulcanisation

Firmly vulcanised rubber layers on metal bodies for highly loadable vibration damping.
